About the Role

We are looking for an OHSE Coordinator to support the OHSE Manager in delivering an effective health, safety and environmental management service across the Croydon site. This role coordinates the OHSE agenda, key activities and improvement projects, whilst deputising for the OHSE Manager when required. You will support stakeholders in meeting their legal responsibilities and compliance requirements, ensuring Zotefoams remains fully compliant with relevant Health and Safety and Environmental legislation.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the workload and development of the OHSE Assistant
  • Maintain and continuously improve the OHSE management system including audit management, procedure control and operational performance
  • Support and facilitate continued certification to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and obligations
  • Lead incident management and reporting in line with RIDDOR and other regulatory requirements, including DART and DAFW statistics
  • Coordinate and expand safety engagement and observation programmes across departments
  • Provide practical health, safety and environmental advice across the business
  • Ensure waste is managed in a compliant and cost effective manner in line with the waste hierarchy
  • Oversee environmental submissions and returns to regulatory bodies, including packaging waste returns
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits and consents
  • Gather and analyse OHSE statistics and KPIs to identify trends and implement risk based improvement strategies
  • Coordinate occupational health and surveillance programmes
  • Conduct risk assessments and support process owners with control measures aligned to the hierarchy of control
  • Carry out regular site inspections to ensure policies and procedures are implemented effectively
  • Support implementation of new machinery, plant changes and process updates from a safety perspective
  • Monitor and manage the permit to work system
  • Coordinate contractor management processes to ensure safe and compliant project delivery
  • Coordinate and host external audits including HSE, Environment Agency and ISO bodies
  • Deliver OHSE inductions and coordinate internal and third party training in line with the training plan
  • Carry out DSE assessments where required
  • Prepare and present board reports and external audit presentations

What you'll need

  • Excellent knowledge of occupational health, safety and environmental legislation and standards
  • Experience carrying out audits, inspections and risk assessments within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum
  • Experience of CDM Regulations 2015
  • Strong understanding of COSHH assessments and risk management in manufacturing
  • Good project management and coordination skills
  • Strong analytical, written and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
  • Commercial awareness and ability to prioritise effectively
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure
