About the Role:
The Global HSE and Sustainability Director is accountable for setting the path for Zotefoams to be a global leader in all aspects of Health, Safety and Sustainability, aligned with our global strategy. You will define and execute these strategies worldwide and ensure buy‑in from the Executive team and wider business. This role shapes the vision and goals for our global safety and sustainability culture, ensuring compliance, consistency and engagement across all regions. You will partner closely with regional leadership, site managers and the Executive Committee to maintain a safe, responsible and compliant working environment across all sites.
Role Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership
- Define and implement a global HSE strategy aligned with operational and sustainability objectives.
- Partner with Executive and regional leaders to drive alignment and accountability.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance global safety culture.
- Governance & Compliance
- Oversee compliance with local and international HSE regulations and certifications such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Establish governance frameworks, reporting mechanisms and incident‑management processes.
- Develop and manage global HSE policies, audits and performance metrics.
- People & Leadership
- Directly manage the Sustainability Manager and Energy Lead, providing mentoring and strategic guidance.
- Provide leadership to regional HSE teams, ensuring consistent standards and knowledge sharing.
- Foster strong collaboration across countries and functions.
- Sustainability & Energy
- Integrate sustainability targets into operational activity.
- Oversee energy‑efficiency and carbon‑reduction initiatives.
- Support long‑term environmental commitments and sustainability reporting.
- Reporting & Engagement
- Present HSE performance and key metrics to the Executive Committee and Board.
- Act as global ambassador for HSE and sustainability excellence.
- Drive awareness, accountability and continuous improvement through employee engagement.
What you’ll need:
- Strong background in HSE leadership within global manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Experience in Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility or Environmental Management, including frameworks such as GRI or CDP.
- Proven experience implementing HSE strategy across multiple countries.
- CMIOSH or equivalent professional accreditation.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) essential.
- Strong knowledge of ISO management systems and regulatory requirements.
- Leadership capability with experience influencing senior stakeholders.
- Experience delivering sustainability and energy‑management programmes.
