Health & Safety Executive required by high growth travel firm in Sutton, Surrey.
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 plus pension, 25 days holidays, flexible purchase scheme, training & development, well being support.
Hours: 35 hour week (part time 3 days a week considered)
Location: Office Based - Sutton, Surrey 5 days a week

We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Executive (HSE) to lead compliance across the group, ensuring alignment with School Travel Forum (STF) guidelines and adherence to the Package Travel Regulations (PTR) 2018. You will co-ordinate and oversee audits, maintain safety policies and support safety related communications.
- Coordinate annual STF audit process and documentation submission
- Review and update Group H&S policies annually (including H&S, Safeguarding, Sustainability, Crisis Management and LOtC), ensuring compliance and sign-off
- Monitor STF checklists and onsite audits for accommodation and transport providers, escalating issues
- Support audit delivery in line with Safety Management System and STF standards, including:
- Assessing accommodation and coach checklists (UK & overseas) via desktop review
- Assigning STF ratings (High / Acceptable / Unacceptable)
- Tracking compliance using internal systems and reports
- Supporting annual onsite audit programme
- Assessing and rating all audited accommodation
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Relevant Health & Safety experience within the travel industry
- Good understanding of H&S legislation and industry-specific requirements (e.g. STF, LOtC, PTR 2018)
- High attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills
- Confident communicator, able to work with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience managing documentation and using digital systems (e.g. Excel, CRM tools)
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Committed to accuracy, quality, and maintaining high standards under pressure
Desirable (Nice to Have):
- Experience within the educational travel sector
- Knowledge of STF standards and LOtC requirements
- Experience coordinating projects across teams or multiple brands
- Data analysis and risk assessment experience
- Interest in student safety, safeguarding, and continuous improvement
