We’re incredibly proud of our achievements and none of it would be possible without the amazing team here. It’s not just industry awards we’re winning, we’ve also been named in the top three UK’s Most Loved Workplaces.
If you embrace unconventional challenges, are unafraid to think differently and are driven to make an outsized impact, you’ll thrive here at Zopa, so join us, and make it count.
What does an Analyst at Zopa do? At Zopa, our Analysts don’t just analyse the business – they help shape it. From designing our products and customer experiences, to deciding our lending criteria and target markets, our Analysts are at the heart of every major decision we make. You’ll combine creative problem solving with strong numerical and communication skills, turning data into insights and ideas into real-world impact. You’ll have meaningful ownership from the start, while learning from talented colleagues across the business.
How will we help you get started? You don’t need to arrive knowing every tool or technique! Your first four months will include a structured graduate training programme designed to give you a broad foundation across Analytics at Zopa. You’ll rotate through four placements and complete a project for each, giving you the chance to apply your learnings to real business problems. We make extensive use of AI-tools (both generic foundation models and skills developed locally) in all our work including knowledge discovery, code development, and task automation. Training in relevant AI tool use is also part of each of the placements:
- Intro to Zopa & Technical Skills – get to know Zopa, our products and how we use data, while deepening your technical skills (including SQL and Python)
- AI Applications – Learn how analysis using large language models and associated transformer-based architectures is applied to real business problems
- Data Science – Develop your data science skills, including building gradient boosted and sequence-based models, and put them into practice in a competition to build the best model to address a real prediction problem
- Product Economics – understand the economics behind our product design and lending decisions, and learn techniques for forecasting future value
Together, these placements provide broad training in the tools, concepts and business context used across our Analytics teams, preparing you to join any of the analyst teams within Zopa.
What teams do Graduate Analysts join at Zopa? After completing our training programme, you'll join one of our teams. As you grow, you'll have opportunities to explore new projects and internal moves. You can expect to:
- Take real ownership from day one – using data to investigate problems, test ideas and recommend improvements to our products, customer experience and business performance.
- Build your technical skills using cutting edge tools and techniques
- Turn data into insights and communicate these to stakeholders across functions and levels
You'll learn more about each area of Analytics at Zopa throughout our hiring process and training programme. To give you a flavour of the different opportunities…
- Credit Strategy – Shape the lending decisions that drive Zopa’s growth and profitability. You will develop, model and test lending strategies, explore how changes affect customers and commercial performance, and help turn analysis into real lending decisions.
- Product Analytics – Build insight and recommendations that drive product decisions, prioritisation and strategy. You will run in-depth analysis, design tests, monitor performance, and build self-serve tools to enable others in their work (for example, conversational analytics).
- Data Science – Design and deploy cutting-edge predictive models that power Zopa’s products and decisions. You will be pushing boundaries in both the data sources and techniques that you apply to some of our most challenging problems, taking ideas from the experimentation stage through to production deployment.
- Technology – The roles of Zopians in our Technology teams are varied and rapidly evolving as the power of the tools we use to support building, testing, and deploying software grow more powerful. We have exciting opportunities across a broad set of disciplines including software engineering, data engineering, analytic engineering, information security, and technology delivery.
- Risk Lab – The management of risk is an area where we see huge potential benefit from the application of large language models and associated deep learning techniques. You will apply your analytic skills to a wide range of challenges from across the business such as customer experience, financial crime, diagnosing technology incidents, and much more.
Could you be our next Graduate Analyst? We’re not expecting you to know everything already. We’re looking for people who are:
- Numerically confident – comfortable working with mathematics at A-level complexity
- Analytical – able to break down complex challenges, apply logic and make thoughtful judgements
- Naturally curious – keen to ask questions, explore data and understand how things could work better
- Excited by technology – interested in learning tools such as Python and SQL and exploring how AI is changing the way we work
- Ready to Dream Big – curious and ambitious, willing to challenge existing thinking and make progress even when the answer isn’t obvious
- Prepared to Own It – willing to take initiative, take responsibility for outcomes and follow things through
- Motivated to Win Together – collaborative, open to different perspectives and focused on achieving great outcomes with others

Our approach to AI in interviews: At Zopa, AI isn't something we're testing out — it's part of how we work every day. As a proud partner of Jobs 2030, we're committed to building AI fluency across our workforce, and we expect Zopians to use AI as part of how they do their jobs. Because of that, we want to be transparent about how we think about AI use during our hiring process. Behavioural and competency-based interviews: please don't use AI. These conversations are designed to understand you — your experiences, your judgment, and how you've approached real situations. An AI-generated answer can't tell us that. What it can do is get in the way of us finding out whether we're the right fit for each other. Technical interviews: it depends on the role. Some technical stages actively welcome AI use, others don't. Your Talent Partner will let you know what's expected at each stage. Where AI is part of the assessment, we'll be interested not just in the outcome, but in how you used it – the tools you chose, your reasoning, and the decisions you made along the way.
