The role:
We're looking for an exceptional Talent Partner to join our growing Talent team and drive hiring across our Technology function. As a digital bank, technology is the backbone of everything we do: from building the best products for our customers to the tools and platforms used by Zopians every day. Our tech teams are the embodiment of how we run as a business: it’s modern, fast-paced, and always with the customer at heart.
In this role, you’ll have real ownership and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how we build these teams. We operate in highly competitive hiring markets, and the expectations are high. You’ll be trusted to move with pace, bring strong market insight, and focus on outcomes that genuinely move the business forward—not just filling roles. You’ll work roles across a dedicated hiring vertical (Software Engineering, Tech Operations & Delivery, or Data Services) and partner closely with stakeholders across the business. That means building strong relationships, offering thoughtful challenge where needed, and working together to make high-quality hiring decisions. It’s a fast-moving environment, and priorities can shift. The roles can be complex, and there will be times where things don’t go to plan. We’re looking for someone who is tenacious, resilient, curious, and motivated by continuous improvement. This is the right role if you're someone who takes ownership, learns quickly, and is energised by solving tough hiring challenges.
A day in the life:
- Drive talent acquisition for technology roles such as software engineering, data engineering, infosec, tech operations, delivery, and data services.
- Be a sourcing whiz building sourcing strategies to identify and attract passive candidates in the competitive fintech market.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for hard-to-fill technical roles, ensuring we can move quickly when positions open.
- Provide market intelligence on compensation trends, competitor movements, and talent availability in the fintech space.
- Design and execute hiring processes that effectively assess technical competencies while maintaining an exceptional candidate experience.
About you:
- Proven experience in sourcing and managing tech talent where the bar is high.
- You’ll be able to demonstrate the ability to get under the skin of technical details and be able to speak credibly on technical requirements.
- Advanced sourcing skills - you don't rely on brand name and applications to come to you but rather you find the candidates others can't, using multiple channels and creative approaches to reach and nurture passive talent.
- Deep market knowledge of the talent landscape, including compensation benchmarks, career progression paths, and competitive dynamics.
- Technical curiosity - you're genuinely interested in understanding the roles you're recruiting for at a deeper level and can have meaningful conversations about challenges.
- Strong stakeholder management skills - you know how to influence and advise senior leaders on hiring strategy and market realities.
- Data-driven approach - you use metrics and analytics to optimize your recruitment processes and provide insights to the business.
- Passion for diversity and inclusion in technical hiring, with experience building inclusive processes that attract underrepresented talent.
- Resilience and tenacity – the technology market in fintech is highly competitive and can be challenging at times, but you thrive under pressure while maintaining high standards.
- Continuous improvement – you’re never satisfied with how things are and are always trying new methods to improve on previous results.
At Zopa we value flexible ways of working. We value face-to-face collaboration and a good work-life balance. This hybrid role requires you to come to our London office 2-3 days a week. You'll also have the option of working from abroad for up to 120 days a year! But no matter where you are, we’ll make sure you’ve got everything you need to thrive, both in your work and home life, from day one.
