About the team:
The Payments Tribe in Zopa are responsible for end-to-end payments flows for all Zopa’s products and internal payments. Our Payments Tribe is crucial to enabling Zopa’s mission to become the ‘Home of Money’ for our customers. Our team mission is to build and deliver innovative payment features that customers love. We have several innovative payments features being developed and key infrastructure projects that we are focusing on to help us achieve this mission.
The Payments Processing Senior Product Manager role is responsible for ensuring we send payments to and from Zopa products for our customers quickly, safely and at scale. Owning supplier relationships, payments processing architecture, strategy and vision. The impact of this role cuts across all Zopa products and so involves working with senior leadership across the business. It is an opportunity to make real impact on our journey to become the Home of Money, so, it’s an exciting time to join the Tribe!
A day in the life:
- Own the Payments Processing strategy & vision, collaborating with the Payments Director to ensure alignment with the longer-term business strategy.
- Day to day delivery of the Payments Processing roadmap.
- Owning quarterly OKRs and outcomes that enable the payments strategy.
- Close collaboration with all product areas within Zopa to manage prioritisation of key payments outcomes across all areas of the business.
- Build close relationships with key stakeholders such as all Product areas, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations & Finance to collaborate on improving payments processing.
- Manage supplier relationships for Payments Processing, working closely with the Payments Director and Procurement to manage these key relationships.
- Own the Payments Processing KPIs and monitor progress and improve upon them where possible.
About you
- You have spent 5+ years working in a payments product environment. Ideally this experience will be UK payments focused at a Fintech, or consumer facing Financial Institution.
- You’re passionate about Product and comfortable working in an Agile product team environment.
- You are excited by Zopa’s journey that we’re on and full of ideas to help us continue to grow.
- You’re outcomes focused and highly proactive. You take ownership of the product’s success, including where this goes beyond your immediate remit.
- You are actively engaged in the payments industry, using industry knowledge and data to shape your strategic thinking.
- You have experience acting as a leader in cross-functional teams.
- When you think about who your “team mates” are, your “go-to” would be engineering, product peers and wider business stakeholders.
