Overview
As a DBA in Zopa's Platform Tribe, you ensure mission-critical PostgreSQL and AWS database services run with strong operational discipline. You’ll automate repetitive DBA work through infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD, while improving backup, restore, monitoring, and replication. You’ll help engineers self-serve database capabilities with clear guardrails and contribute to migrating from SQL Server to PostgreSQL. This hybrid, collaborative role offers impact at scale within a mission-driven fintech environment.

Responsibilities
- Support mission-critical PostgreSQL and AWS database services with disciplined operations
- Automate repeatable DBA tasks using infrastructure-as-code and deployment pipelines
- Improve backup, restore, monitoring, and replication practices
- Collaborate with Cloud Infrastructure on AWS, Terraform, and platform patterns
- Enable engineers to self-serve database capabilities safely with guardrails
- Contribute to the transition from Microsoft SQL Server to PostgreSQL
- Participate in on-call rotations to minimize toil and incidents
