Zopa is looking for a Senior Credit Strategy Analyst to join our high‑performing credit analytics and strategy team. This role focuses on driving step‑change improvements in credit performance through risk modelling, hypothesis testing, portfolio trend monitoring and collaboration with cross‑functional teams including data science, product and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Optimise credit strategy and decisioning for one of our lending products, whether by deploying a new risk scorecard or implementing a credit policy change.
  • Use advanced statistical techniques to predict customer behaviour or forecast demand.
  • Shape and enhance our credit policy, working with product and tech teams to deliver changes.
  • Work with open‑banking or other novel datasets to find new ways to improve credit strategy.
  • Manage pricing and commercials on our lending programme and recommend strategy to Product Directors.
  • Analyse portfolio performance, identify improvement areas and recommend strategic changes.
  • Collaborate with the fraud team to stay abreast of trends and explore enhancements to fraud strategy.
  • Formulate strategies to improve our affordability policy and consistently deliver good customer outcomes.
  • Build NPV and pricing optimisation models to inform lending decisions while understanding their limitations.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in credit risk analysis within a consumer lending environment.
  • Proficiency in manipulating and analysing large datasets using SQL and/or Python.
  • Experience in data visualization and storytelling.
  • Passion for translating numbers into business opportunities and delivering insights to influence decision‑making.
  • Structured, holistic problem‑solver with strong time‑management skills.
  • Insatiable curiosity and a relentless drive to learn, improve, and share knowledge.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams (tech, data science, finance, product).
