Cloud Infrastructure sits within Zopa’s Platform Tribe alongside DBA and Dev X colleagues.
We build the foundations that help engineering teams deliver reliable, secure products with confidence.
We are at the beginning of a meaningful transformation: moving from infrastructure that is primarilyoperatedfor teams towards a platform that engineers can increasingly use through clear, self-service capabilities.
This role will help shape the standards, guardrails and developer experience that make that possible.
A Day In The Life
- Design and evolve reliable cloud platform capabilities for engineering teams.
- Improve AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, monitoring and operational patterns.
- Partner with engineers to understand needs and make safe, maintainable choices.
- Take ownership of work from problem definition through delivery and learning.
- Strengthen observability, resilience, security and incident readiness.
- Help build reusable tooling, guardrails and self-service foundations.
- Contribute to platform standards across Cloud Infrastructure, DBA and Dev X.
- Support business-critical services through the shared on-call rota.
About You
- Strong hands-on AWS platform engineering experience in production environments.
- Practical Kubernetes/EKS, Docker, Terraform and Helm experience.
- Strong CI/CD experience, particularly Git Hub Actions, and reusable-pipeline thinking.
- Experience with logging and monitoring, networking and protocols, scripting, secrets management and service discovery.
- Exposure to both AWS and Kubernetes, with sound coding experience.
- Evidence of designing secure, reliable and maintainable platform solutions.
- Autonomous delivery and constructive collaboration with application engineers.
- Experience supporting business-critical services through an on-call rota.

- Experience with Honeycomb, Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Splunk, including SLO-led practices.
- Pragmatic use of AI-assisted engineering tools to improve quality and productivity.
