The role
The UK is a nation of property obsessives and this is an opportunity to join Zoopla\’s communications team on its mission to become the UK\’s trusted partner for home decisions – whether moving, managing or financing.
We\’re looking for a world class PR manager who will manage all of the day-to-day consumer-facing media relations for Zoopla, as well as supporting the team on trade and corporate communications.
You will position the platform at the heart of national conversations about property, helping to cement Zoopla as the partner of choice for homeowners and movers looking to take the next steps in their home moving process, empowering them with the tools and information they need to βWin at Moving\’, while providing customers with an essential platform to help them grow their business.
You\’ll be part of a busy press office working closely with the wider Marketing and Research & Insight teams to deliver a steady drumbeat of insight-led, engaging stories that ensure Zoopla is consistently featured in high impact target media including national, broadcast and regional titles.
Reporting into the Director of Research and Insight, the role sits within the existing communications team and alongside the dynamic marketing function made up of digital, content, brand, design and research. All of these functions (including communications) sit across both the customer and consumer teams.
Responsibilities
- Designing and delivering a steady monthly drumbeat of high impact consumer campaigns that generate extensive coverage and bring Zoopla\’s consumer value to life
- Align consumer communications with wider B2B and corporate messaging through collaboration with colleagues comms and marketing. Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships to ensure effective multi-channel asset utilisation
- Maintaining existing and developing new media relationships across a full range of media including national, online, broadcast and regional titles, as well as property and lifestyle writers
- Measuring the impact of all consumer activity, how this tallies with the wider business KPIs and effectively reporting back to the rest of the business
- Effectively managing an external communications agency to deliver impactful and insightful cross functional campaigns that deliver on our mission
Requirements
- Proven track record in delivering high impact consumer PR campaigns for a high profile national consumer brand
- Excellent writing skills that can be utilised for a variety of mediums / audiences
- The ability to craft consumer research questions that deliver the results required for engaging and relevant campaigns
- Strong media contacts
- Relationships with national, regional, broadcast, lifestyle and consumer media
- Effective at measurement and reporting
- Feel at ease evaluating key KPIs and metrics that evaluate PR activity and effectively showcase coverage, results and value in our drive to increase consumer preference towards Zoopla
- Senior stakeholder management
- Effective and managing and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, to deliver key messages confidently, regularly and accurately
- Experience working with other disciplines / as part of cross functional team
- Collaborate with the wider commercial marketing team and teams across Zoopla
- Experience and understanding of executing a communications strategy
- Numerically literate and adept at mining data to identify engaging PR angles for consumer campaigns
Could Have
- 6+ years experience leading day to day media relations for a leading consumer brand or within an agency
- Previous experience of managing an agency is desirable
- Property, trade/B2B or corporate sector experience, but this is not essential
