A picturesque village pub seeks a great Sous Chef to join the team. The pub comes with a strong philosophy on food which is very simple. Source the best quality ingredients and treat them with respect. The pub offers a varied offering of British classics with a fantastic specials board.
Everything is made in house and the menu is 100% fresh food. This is not a fine dining establishment, simply a quality offering in wonderful surroundings. The pub has roaring open fires in the winter and an amazing outside area that is being extended to include outside cooking areas this summer. hence the reason for extending the team.
Premium good quality meat is at the forefront of every dish they produce, and this is shown by the endless 5-star reviews.
About you…
Looking for an experienced, hardworking and passionate Sous Chef to support the kitchen team. The ideal candidate for this position has previous experience preparing fresh food, enjoys working in a busy environment and is capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively. A successful candidate will have restaurant experience, a passion for food prep, and strong customer service skills.
Responsibilities…
- Prepare food in a timely manner.
- Clean work areas and kitchen areas.
- Manage financial risks.
- Be a leader and mentor to junior team members.
- Organises and sets up the assigned section as efficiently as possible to increase speed and maximise productivity.
- Ensures that all dishes are prepared consistently and according to standard recipes.
- Assists the Sous Chefs and Head Chef in ensuring that all culinary standards comply with company and Hotel Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor and reduce food waste.
- Ensures all health and safety/food safety regulations are adhered to.
- Stays focused and is conscious about food presentation and consistency.
- Practices proper food handling procedures.
- Practices proper knife handling skills.
- Keeps workstation clean at all times during service time.
- Performs all duties in adherence to all company standards and policy
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and late hours when necessary.
