The Technical Business Development Manager connects strategic telecom partners, Zoom’s API platform, and internal product and engineering teams. They enable carriers, resellers, and service providers to integrate with Zoom through API-driven onboarding, ordering, provisioning, and OAuth-based account management. This integration accelerates partner activation while maintaining compliance with Zoom’s architectural and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the primary technical contact for new and existing Provider Exchange partners (telcos, VNOs, SIP providers).
  • Lead integration discovery workshops to map partner systems to Zoom’s Provider Exchange APIs (ordering, provisioning, number management, and status APIs).
  • Translate business use cases (e.g., number ordering, BYOC migration, Zoom Phone activation) into API workflows and OAuth-secured integration flows.
  • Document and communicate technical requirements, sandbox access, and API authentication processes to partner engineering teams.
  • Guide partners through Zoom’s Ordering and Provisioning APIs, ensuring accurate mapping of order flows (Create, Modify, Cancel, Activate).
  • Oversee OAuth app registration and token exchange process to enable secure, delegated partner access.
  • Validate partner payloads, webhook callbacks, and response handling for end-to-end automation.
  • Collaborate with Zoom Product and Engineering to troubleshoot API payloads, sequencing, and error responses.
  • Drive partners toward zero-touch provisioning models using real-time API calls and asynchronous event handling.
  • Support partners in building and registering OAuth 2.0 apps within the Zoom App Marketplace for Provider Exchange integration.
  • Ensure partner apps comply with Zoom’s security, privacy, and data-access standards, including least-privilege scopes and token lifecycle management.
  • Educate partners on OAuth flows (authorization code, client credentials, refresh tokens) and multi-tenant authentication best practices.
  • Coordinate with Zoom’s App Review and Security teams during partner app submission and audit processes.
  • Collaborate with Zoom Product, API Platform, Partner Engineering, and Global Services to align technical requirements with commercial objectives.
  • Produce integration playbooks, test plans, and API schema guides for partner enablement.
  • Deliver technical demos and sandbox walkthroughs to partner engineering teams.
  • Support commercial BD and partner managers with integration timelines, readiness reports, and certification criteria.
  • Liaise with compliance and legal teams to ensure integrations align with regional regulatory (UL, VNO, LI) and data-sovereignty frameworks.
  • Partner with Product Marketing and BD to translate technical integrations into commercial offerings, highlighting automation, speed to provision, and reduced operational overhead.
  • Gather partner feedback to influence API roadmap priorities — especially around ordering APIs, status callbacks, and country-specific provisioning logic.
  • Maintain visibility of partner integration health via API telemetry and usage analytics.
  • Lead partner readiness reviews and drive continuous improvement in API documentation and developer experience.

What We’re Looking For

  • Demonstrate expertise in RESTful API architectures, JSON payloads, OAuth 2.0, and webhook event processing.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Zoom Phone, Provider Exchange, and Zoom App Marketplace developer frameworks.
  • Demonstrate expertise in telecom provisioning, number allocation, and ensuring seamless carrier compatibility.
  • Demonstrate expertise in designing and validating API workflows connecting CRM, OSS, BSS systems with Zoom’s platform.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying intricate technical processes clearly to stakeholders without technical expertise.
