Are you an experienced Asphalt Technician or Construction Materials Technician with hands-on experience in asphalt testing? We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading UK materials manufacturer for an Asphalt Technician – Construction Materials to join their established technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in asphalt, construction materials or materials testing to join a business that invests in quality, innovation and employee development. You’ll play an important role in supporting quality control, materials testing and product performance, working across a range of construction materials within both laboratory and site-based environments.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out quality control and end-performance testing on asphalt, ready-mix concrete, mortars, screeds and aggregates.
- Performing laboratory testing in accordance with British, European and UKAS standards.
- Accurately recording, analysing and maintaining test results.
- Supporting the development and improvement of construction materials and products.
- Assisting with site-based testing and providing technical support when required.
- Ensuring testing is completed accurately, safely and in line with relevant procedures.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised laboratory environment.
- Following all company Health & Safety procedures and requirements.
We’re particularly interested in candidates who have previous experience within asphalt testing, construction materials or materials laboratories. You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience as an Asphalt Technician, Materials Technician or Construction Materials Technician.
- Practical experience of asphalt testing and quality control procedures.
- Knowledge of construction materials and relevant testing methods.
- A good understanding of British and European testing standards.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent record-keeping and analytical skills.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- A full UK Driving Licence – essential.
Please note: This role is specifically suited to candidates with experience in asphalt, construction materials or materials testing. Applications from purely medical, pharmaceutical or clinical laboratory backgrounds are unlikely to be suitable.
Salary & Benefits
- £28,000 – £29,500 per annum
