We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join a busy and growing operation in Bedford. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven transport professional who enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and ensuring a first-class service is delivered every day.

Working as part of a fast-paced logistics environment, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the transport operation, leading a team of drivers and supporting the wider management team to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • Managing and motivating a transport team, ensuring high standards of performance, engagement, and development
  • Overseeing daily transport operations, ensuring plans are delivered efficiently and customer expectations are met
  • Managing driver performance, training needs, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring fleet compliance, including vehicle checks, defects, servicing, and operational standards
  • Monitoring KPIs, productivity, service levels, and operational costs
  • Maintaining a safe, compliant, and positive working environment
  • Working closely with internal teams and external partners to resolve operational challenges
Requirements:
  • Has previous experience managing a transport operation within logistics, FMCG, or a similar fast-paced environment
  • Has strong people management skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop teams
  • Is confident managing targets, KPIs, compliance, and operational improvements
  • Has excellent organisational skills and can manage priorities in a busy environment
  • Holds a Transport Manager CPC (Standard National) qualification (essential)
