ZOO Digital currently has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Software Project Manager to join our award-winning Research & Development team. Research & Development work closely with the Product Support Team to create cutting edge software solutions for high profile and industry-leading customers. ZOO’s R&D department is thriving – you will work as part of a dynamic, lively team helping to provide creative, innovative and quality driven software.
As Software Project Manager, you will work closely with Software Engineering, Product Support, and Dev Ops teams to coordinate and deliver software development work, ensuring projects, sprints and releases are well planned, prioritised, and delivered on time. You will be the central point of oversight for keeping delivery on track, removing blockers, and keeping teams focused on the right priorities to maintain project quality.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Planning and guiding day‑to‑day delivery activity, making sure priorities, timelines, dependencies, and risks are clearly understood and well managed.
- Keeping project schedules, roadmaps, and delivery plans clear and up to date, so teams have good visibility of workloads, priorities, and upcoming releases.
- Keeping a close eye on delivery progress, spotting risks or changes early and working with teams to keep things moving in the right direction.
- Acting as a central point of coordination during release cycles, sharing updates and flagging risks or changes clearly and proactively.
- Working collaboratively with engineering leads to agree delivery estimates, sense‑check plans, and ensure timelines are realistic and achievable.
- Helping to balance work across teams by considering capacity, skills, and priorities across multiple projects.
- Making sure project tools, trackers, documentation, and reporting are well maintained, accurate, and easy for others to use.
- Producing regular delivery and management updates that provide clear insight into progress, utilisation, and potential risks.
- Looking for opportunities to improve delivery processes, tools, and ways of working, and supporting teams to embed consistent agile practices.
- Turning business or client‑driven requests into clear delivery plans, user stories, and release schedules in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Maintaining a clear, joined‑up view of all active development work, ensuring delivery information is easy to access, understand, and share.
