Position Overview: Serves as the Technical subject matter expert (SME) for AV conference room deployments within a designated region or program. Provides engineering guidance, ensures adherence to Microsoft AV standards, and supports project teams through all phases of deployment—from design development to installation and handover. Partners closely with Project Managers, Regional Leads, and vendors to resolve technical issues, manage escalations, and drive quality outcomes.
What you will do as the Technical Lead:
- Act as the Technical SME for AV deployments, educating project teams on Microsoft standards, deviation processes, and technical risk.
- Accountable for validating AV conference room designs and bill of materials (BOM) based on site survey results, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with standards, and readiness for procurement.
- Manage and quality-assure design development drawings and construction documentation.
- Provide technical consultation during installation phases, including responding to RFIs and resolving escalations with vendors and engineering teams.
- Participate in retrospectives and lessons learned sessions to drive continual improvement and share technical insights across teams.
- Support the AV Project Manager on all technical elements of the deployment lifecycle.
What you will bring to the team:
- 5+ years of experience in AV systems engineering/design.
- Strong understanding of AV hardware, room standards, and deployment protocols.
- Experience with design development, technical drawing review, and functional specification creation.
- Proven ability to resolve technical escalations and support field teams during installation.
- At least one industry certification, such as: CTS® (Certified Technology Specialist), CTS-D® (Design), or CTS-I® (Installation).
