Position Overview: The Junior Technical Configuration Engineer will primarily be engaged in a specific project to help with racking servers, applying configuration, monitoring the staging activity and then re-packing/boxing the servers to be shipped to client sites. The Technical Configuration Engineer could additionally be used in the configuration team for cleaning, grading and staging end user devices (laptops, printers, mobile phones etc).
- This position requires being proficient in English and will require working Saturday and Sunday only as part of the role’s ongoing responsibilities.
- This is an entry level position for Junior Engineer looking to further his/her career in the IT Service Industry.
What you’ll do as the Junior Technical Configuration Engineer:
- Imaging and configuring devices before they are sent out to the Customer.
- Testing, cleaning and re-imaging incoming devices as per the defined Run Book and operational documents produced by the Project Management team.
- Grading devices based on condition.
- Completing inbound and outbound checklists.
- Adhering to SLAs relating to the delivery of customer equipment.
- Autopilot and MDM enrollments.
- Asset Tagging devices.
- Configuring and setting up devices as required (Laptops, Desktops, EPOS, Printers, Scanners, Handhelds etc.)
- Troubleshooting technical issues.
What you will bring to the team:
- College level education preferred but not essential.
- Good Technical skills: The role requires a diverse knowledge of IT systems, both hardware and software.
- Good problem-solving skills: you must be able to troubleshoot problems on “the fly”.
- Experience: We will require at least 2 years of experience in an IT services organization with specific experience in configuring and staging hardware.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES, ETC:
- CompTIA A+
- Microsoft qualifications or vocational IT qualifications are desirable.
