We are seeking a Wireless SME to support our OperationsCentre. The engineer shall be the primary SME for our modernised site wirelessnetwork. This role requires strong expertise in network engineering and sitewireless technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Expertisein wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi (802.11 standards), cellular(4G/5G) would be a benefit, and emerging wireless protocols.
- Fullyunderstand design, implementation, and optimization of wireless networksfor performance, coverage, and security (incl authentication).
- Skilledin diagnosing connectivity issues, interference, and bandwidth problemsusing tools like spectrum analysers and wireless monitoring software.
- Strongunderstanding of wireless security protocols (WPA3, encryption,authentication) and compliance standards.
- Planningfor high-density environments and ensuring network scalability.
- Familiaritywith major wireless vendors (Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, etc.) and ability torecommend solutions based on business needs.
- Createtechnical documentation, network diagrams, and adhere to industrystandards.
- Workwith cross-functional teams and provide guidance or training to engineersand stakeholders.
- Understanding/experienceof visitor guest wireless best practices and deployments.
- Understanding/experienceof resident/hospitality guest wireless best practices and deployments toensure Care Home residents have ability to use smart technology as theywould at home.
- Stayupdated on new wireless technologies like Wi-Fi 7, IoT connectivity, andprivate 5G networks.
- Strongbackground in network engineering.
- Wirelessnetwork design & RF planning for high‑density space
- Guest& resident Wi‑Fi deployments in hospitality/healthcare settings
