ID Recruitment are seeking an experienced and motivated MechanicalEngineer to join a busy mechanical engineering company located in Mayo towork on a major data centre project in Slough, UK. The successful candidatewill be responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation ofmechanical systems critical to the operation of high-availability facilities.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams toensure mechanical systems are designed, installed, and maintained to thehighest industry standards.

As the role is in Slough, UK you will be required to worka shift pattern of 13 days on, 3 days off. Travel will be incorporated into theworking days. This role is offering the right candidate an attractive salarywith accommodation and travel costs extra.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadthe design and coordination of mechanical systems (HVAC, chilled water,CRAC/CRAH units, pumps, piping, and ventilation systems) within the datacentre environment.
  • Prepareand review technical drawings, specifications, and calculations in linewith project requirements and industry best practices.
  • Supportproject planning, procurement, and installation activities, ensuringalignment with construction schedules.
  • Conductdesign reviews, risk assessments, and technical audits to maintain qualityand compliance.
  • Liaisewith clients, contractors, and consultants to manage design deliverablesand resolve on-site issues.
  • Ensuremechanical systems meet ASHRAE, CIBSE, and local UK building regulationsstandards.
  • Providetechnical support during commissioning and handover phases.
  • Monitorand report progress, ensuring projects are delivered on time and withinbudget.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor'sdegree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3-8 years experience in mechanical building services or data centreenvironments.
  • Strongunderstanding of HVAC design principles, chilled water systems, andcritical cooling infrastructure.
  • Experienceworking with BIM/Revit, AutoCAD, and relevant design software
  • Provenability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate across disciplines.
  • Knowledgeof health & safety standards and environmental regulations inconstruction.
