Job Role: Security Duty Manager

Working Hours: Average 42 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off rotating shiftpattern – 4 day shifts (07:00–19:00), 4 days off, 4 night shifts (19:00–07:00),4 days off

Pay Rate: £15.85 per hour

Location: Quayside Shopping Centre, SalfordQuays, Manchester, M50 3AH

Overview

Anchor Group Services is seeking an experienced and proactive SecurityDuty Manager to oversee the day-to-day security operation at Quayside, a busyshopping centre located in MediaCity, Manchester.

This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for overseeingthe onsite security team and ensuring a safe, secure and welcoming environmentfor visitors, tenants, colleagues and stakeholders.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 2 years’experience managing a team, strong communication and organisational skills, andthe confidence to lead security operations throughout their shift. A valid SIA DoorSupervisor and CCTV Licence are both essential, along with good computerliteracy and the ability to complete reports and maintain accurate records.

About the Role

As Security Duty Manager, you will take responsibility for the effective running of the security operation during your shift, providing leadership and support to the onsite security team and ensuring consistentlyhigh standards of service.

You will oversee daily security activities, including CCTV andControl Room operations, incident response, site patrols and team deployment, ensuring procedures are followed and any issues are dealt with professionallyand effectively.

Working within a busy customer-facing environment, you will beexpected to lead by example, maintain a professional and visible presence andwork collaboratively with centre management and the wider operations team.

The role operates on a 4 on 4 off rotating shift pattern,consisting of four day shifts from 07:00 to 19:00, followed by four days off,then four night shifts from 19:00 to 07:00, followed by four days off.

  • Oversee the day-to-day security operation duringyour shift, ensuring a professional and effective service is maintained.
  • Lead, supervise and support the onsite securityteam, ensuring duties are allocated effectively and required standards are consistently achieved.
  • Oversee CCTV and Control Room operations, ensuringprocedures are followed and operations remain compliant.
  • Monitor site activity and coordinate an appropriate response to security incidents, emergencies and other operationalissues.
  • Ensure regular patrols and security checks arecompleted effectively and in line with site requirements.
  • Respond professionally to incidents, accidents andcustomer concerns, escalating matters where appropriate.
  • Complete accurate incident reports, handovers,logs and other operational documentation.
  • Ensure Assignment Instructions, site proceduresand company policies are followed by the security team.
  • Support the induction, training, development andongoing performance of security team members.
  • Ensure staffing levels and officer deployment meetthe operational requirements of the site.
  • Liaise effectively with Centre Management,tenants, visitors and other stakeholders.
  • Support emergency procedures, includingevacuations and incident management.
  • Maintain a professional,customer-focused approach at all times, ensuring a positive experience forvisitors to the centre

Requirements

  • Essential: Valid SIA Door SupervisorLicence
  • Essential: Minimum of 2 years’ experiencemanaging or supervising a team
  • Previous experience working within the security industry.
  • Previous experience within a shopping centre, retail orsimilarly busy customer-facing environment is desirable.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Confident managing and responding to incidents in aprofessional manner.
  • Good understanding of CCTV and Control Room operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritiseeffectively.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to use Microsoft Officeapplications and site-based systems.
  • Ability to produce clear and accurate written reports.
  • Professional, reliable and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexible and willing to work both day and night shifts as partof the 4 on, 4 off rota.
  • Full 5-year checkableemployment history.
