Job Role: Banksman/Security Officer

WorkingHours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern(2 days, 2 nights, 4 off) - Average 42 hours per week

Pay: £14.80per hour

Anchor Group Services is recruiting Banksman / SecurityOfficers for The Elephant, a landmark mixed-use development at the heart ofElephant & Castle. Bringing together retail, residential and public spaces,The Elephant is set to become a vibrant destination where residents, visitors,retailers and communities come together.

This is a unique opportunity to join a flagship Londonmobilisation from day one, helping to establish standards, culture and serviceexcellence across a brand-new development. As a Banksman / Security Officer,you will play a key role in supporting the safe movement of vehicles,deliveries and contractors throughout the development, helping to maintain asafe and well-organised operational environment.

Due to the operational requirements of the site, thesuccessful candidate will also be required to provide occasional cover withinthe Control Room. As such, applicants must hold a valid SIA Door SupervisorLicence and SIA CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) Licence. This is a dual-roleposition combining Banksman duties with security responsibilities whenrequired.

About the Role

As a Banksman / Security Officer, you will support the safeand efficient movement of vehicles throughout the development, working closelywith drivers, contractors, retailers and site teams. You will help manageaccess to loading bays and service areas, promote safe working practices, andensure operational areas remain safe and well organised at all times.

You will also provide relief cover within the site's ControlRoom as required, monitoring CCTV systems and supporting the wider securityoperation.

You will be a visible ambassador for both Anchor GroupServices and The Elephant, demonstrating professionalism, vigilance andexcellent customer service in a busy operational environment.

Duties Include

• Direct and marshal vehicle movements safely onsite
  
• Ensure vehicles enter, manoeuvre and exit sitesafely and in accordance with site procedures
  
• Monitor pedestrian and vehicle activity to reducerisk and prevent unsafe practices
  
• Maintain a visible presence across the site andrespond promptly to any issues or concerns
  
• Liaise with drivers, contractors, visitors and thewider site team in a professional and courteous manner
  
• Carry out site checks and report any hazards,incidents or breaches of procedure
  
• Support the widersecurity and operational team as required.
  
• Provide relief coverwithin the Control Room, including monitoring CCTV systems and respondingappropriately to incidents and alarms.
  
• Complete any relevantrecords, logs or incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  
• Ensure all duties arecarried out in line with health and safety requirements, assignmentinstructions and company standards.
  

Requirements

• Previous Banksman, Traffic Marshal, Logistics or operationalsite experience.
  
• Valid SIA DoorSupervisor Licence (Essential).
  
• Valid SIA CCTV(Public Space Surveillance) Licence (Essential).
  
• Full 5-year checkableemployment history.
  
• Excellentunderstanding of health and safety principles.
  
• Confident directingvehicle movements and communicating clear instructions.
  
• Ability to challengeunsafe behaviour professionally and appropriately.
  
• Excellentcommunication skills, both written and verbal.
  
• Customer serviceexperience and confidence handling conflict professionally.
  
• Ability to remaincalm and professional under pressure.
  
• Strong observationaland problem-solving skills.
  
• Flexible approach toshift work including weekends and bank holidays.
  
• Professionalappearance and high personal standards.
