The Service Accountant (Adult Social Care) is a pivotal role within a local authority, tasked with delivering high-quality financial management and strategic support to Adult Social Care services. This position serves as a key advisor to service managers and senior leaders, ensuring effective budget management, financial planning, forecasting, statutory compliance, and value-for-money outcomes. Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted finance business partner to Adult Social Care budget holders and senior managers.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and timely financial advice to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the annual budget-setting process for Adult Social Care services.
  • Produce regular budget monitoring reports and financial forecasts.
  • Identify financial risks, cost pressures, and opportunities for efficiencies.

Requirements:

Essential Experience Required:

Essential Qualifications Required:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CCAB, CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or finalist-level candidate with substantial relevant experience.
  • Relevant finance, accounting, or business qualification.
