A fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Coordinator to join a fast-growing technology company based in the Greater Cambridge area. This role will play a key part in supporting a scaling organisation, ensuring the business has the materials, components, and services required to operate efficiently. This is a hands-on position working closely with internal teams and suppliers, focused on order processing, supplier coordination, and ensuring the smooth delivery of goods across a range of technical and operational categories.
Our client values those with absolute top academics - therefore, requires a 2.1 or 1st from internationally renowned university and all A's at A-Level (or international equivalent). Due to the nature of some client projects, you must be willing and eligible to obtain DV Security Clearance. This generally requires a long-term UK residency history (typically 10+ years) and the ability to pass government security vetting. You can join the team and work on other commercial projects while your clearance application is progressing.
Location: North Uttlesford / Greater Cambridge Area – fully onsite role, 5 days per week (must be able to travel between sites)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Requirements for Procurement Coordinator:
- Experience within procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or buying roles
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident managing multiple suppliers, quotes, and orders simultaneously
- Good understanding of purchase order processes and general procurement workflows
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and solve problems quickly
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to drive and travel between sites
- Due to the nature of the work, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance
Experience in the following is beneficial:
- Logistics coordination and delivery management
- Customs documentation and international shipping processes
- Experience working within engineering, manufacturing, electronics, or technical environments
- ERP or MRP systems
- Stock control or inventory management
Responsibilities for Procurement Coordinator:
- Prepare, review, and process purchase orders in line with internal requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while supporting pricing discussions and evaluating performance
- Coordinate shipments, deliveries, logistics arrangements, and customs documentation where required
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and stock levels
- Monitor and track orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Resolve issues relating to damaged goods, incorrect shipments, or delivery delays
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, export controls, and regulatory requirements
- Support the development and improvement of procurement processes aligned to business growth
- Work closely with internal teams to understand requirements and ensure timely fulfilment of procurement needs
