Logistics Operations Manager
We are looking for a network operator who runs four distribution centres as one, and holds a 3PL to its numbers without breaking the relationship. The role exists so that million units level reach fifteen countries at the cost we planned and at a service level we can prove. Cost and service are one conversation, never two.
MUST HAVE
• 5+ years multi-country outbound distribution experience, brand-side or 3PL-side, background is judged on evidence, not pedigree
• Has owned a 3PL relationship at contract level: service levels, cost-per-order, invoice audit, escalation, not day-to-day ticket traffic
• Can read a fulfilment invoice line by line and find the money. Has delivered a cost-down they personally landed and can explain
• Owns blended cost-per-order against an annual budget, per country, and defends the variance monthly without being asked
• Has opened fulfilment in a new market end to end: carrier selection, customs and import setup, returns flow, first peak
• Fluent in DTC parcel economics, weight breaks, volumetric weight, zone and carrier mix, tracked versus untracked, and what each does to margin and to the customer
• Runs DTC and B2B out of one network: retailer delivery windows, EDI, labelling and compliance, without letting B2B eat DTC stock
• Inventory discipline: stock accuracy, shrinkage, cycle counts, cover and phasing, measured against a revenue-weighted in-stock target rather than an average
• Generalist mindset with LLM/AI advanced experience, ideally Anthropic, to compound on effective output
• Systems-literate: WMS and ERP integration, order routing rules, and enough data capability to build the report rather than wait for it
• Peak-hardened. Has planned and survived a Black Friday to Christmas run where forecast discipline decided the outcome
• Holds a vendor to a service level and stays someone that vendor wants to work with
• Stands alone. No logistics department behind them, no planner, no analyst, no coordinator
• English working level across all sites and partners. + German, French, or Italian useful, but not required
WHAT WE OFFER, HONESTLY
Full control of the distribution layer of a prestige beauty brand trading roughly 90% DTC across 10+ leading EU/UK countries: four partner distribution centres in France, Germany, Italy and the UK plus own quality hub in Frankfurt. You own the cost, the service levels, the new-market openings and the commercial relationship with the 3PL, working alongside the SCM Lead who owns supply into the network. Reporting to the Group CEO/COO. This is a build, not a maintain.
Setup: Frankfurt-anchored or EU-remote, CET core hours
