This is a 12-month contractor role, created to cover an internal secondment. Make a Difference Where It Matters Most. At Zoetis, our purpose is simple but powerful: to nurture the world and humankind by advancing care for animals. As a Diagnostic Account Manager (DAM), you will play a critical role in helping veterinary practices deliver better outcomes through innovative diagnostic solutions. This is a field-based, customer-facing role where your expertise, relationship-building skills, and commercial mindset will directly impact customer success, business growth, and animal health across your territory.

The Role: As a Diagnostic Account Manager, you will be the trusted diagnostic partner for veterinary practices, laboratory research, and veterinary academic settings within your territory. You will provide on-site support to existing Zoetis VetScan customers and be responsible for the overall business performance, customer satisfaction, and growth of your accounts. Your primary focus will be to support customers across the full lifecycle of Zoetis diagnostic solutions—from installation and onboarding through to optimisation, workflow improvement, utilisation growth, and troubleshooting. You will also identify opportunities for new equipment sales, consumables, and expanded solutions within existing accounts. This role requires someone who thrives in the field, enjoys autonomy and is motivated by building long-term, mutually beneficial customer partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Territory & Account Planning: Maintain a high level of expertise across the Zoetis diagnostics portfolio, including products, services, pricing, market trends, and competition. Develop and execute robust account plans in collaboration with Account Managers, Corporate Key Account Managers, Area Business Managers, ZVCs, Diagnostics Sales Specialists, and Training Managers. Identify, analyse, and track individual account performance, supporting clinics to improve workflow, efficiency, utilisation, and customer experience. Align activity to marketing programmes and management direction, following the Solution Selling approach. Analyse territory sales data and growth opportunities to support delivery of sales targets. Maintain accurate CRM records, including customer data, call reports, and opportunities. Monitor and interpret Power BI data relating to Dx.com usage, ordering, and contracts. Collaborate cross-functionally with other Zoetis business units to maximise shared customer opportunities.
  • Customer Relationships & Commercial Growth: Build long-term, high-quality partnerships based on trust, expertise, and value. Deliver bespoke customer solutions using the full Zoetis ecosystem: products, value-added services, ZVCs, and specialist colleagues. Identify and progress opportunities for additional analysers, consumables, and referrals within existing accounts. Log opportunities accurately in Salesforce.com and manage analyser orders via CPQ in partnership with ABMs and Customer Services. Share best practices and contribute ideas that drive team success. Work closely with Technical Support (L1 & L2) to support and escalate troubleshooting when required. Maintain regular communication with Customer Services on orders, deliveries, Hybris, and WebShop usage.
  • In-Field Activity & Technical Support: Deliver agreed call activity and customer coverage in line with KPIs. Provide on-site technical support where issues cannot be resolved remotely, including troubleshooting complex system problems. Conduct basic analyser maintenance, software updates, PMS connectivity support, and user training. Deliver formal and informal training sessions including lunch & learns, clinical clubs, and presentations. Develop in-practice diagnostic champions to embed expertise and adoption. Lead post-sale installations, validation, onboarding, and applications training. Ensure all relevant practice staff are trained and signed off for confident equipment use; retrain new starters within 8 weeks. Set clear objectives for every customer interaction and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Compliance & Governance: Uphold the highest standards of compliance and business conduct, including Pharmacovigilance, Global Vet Policy, Zoetis Values, and local codes of practice. Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with all key stakeholders. Manage customer support budgets responsibly and within agreed controls.
