Job Purpose

The purpose of this field-based position is to provide scientific and technical support to our customers on the health, diagnostics, and disease control of their animals. The person in this role will work closely with Account Managers (AMs), fellow veterinary colleagues, and the Area Business Manager, using their veterinary expertise to support sales growth and market share gains.

Core Responsibilities

  • Planning
    • Align activities to the AMs' account plans, relevant marketing programmes, and management direction.
    • Plan and implement Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) management activities, including KOL identification, profiling in CRM systems, and annual plans for active KOLs in relation to key and future portfolio brands.
    • Manage time effectively to allow for Business Unit support (~20% of time) and Customer support (~80% of time).
  • Relationships
    • Collaborate with AMs to deliver bespoke customer solutions utilising all available resources, including value-add services and Product Managers.
    • Develop mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with customers based on veterinary expertise, respect, and reputation.
    • Offer support, training, and coaching to AMs and colleagues within the business unit to share expertise and add value to customers.
  • Customer Activities
    • Grow customer product usage using technical and business knowledge; deliver programmes that improve animal health and productivity.
    • Use practice data to identify opportunities and tailor programmes to customer needs.
    • Provide the agreed standard of technical support to customers and respond to queries or complaints quickly and effectively.
    • Undertake diagnostic support as required.
    • Support specific customers in collaboration with AMs, ensuring a constant flow of information and proposing phase 3b/4 studies when necessary.
    • Participate in brand cross-functional teams.
    • Support the National Veterinary Manager(s) and the Northern European cluster team as required.
  • Veterinary Knowledge and Expertise
    • Use veterinary expertise to inform customers of product technicalities, diagnostic applications, uses, and effects.
    • Share knowledge with AMs and the wider business.
    • Identify opportunities to leverage expertise for commercial gain.
    • Maintain high-level expertise with the evolving portfolio of products, services, pricing, and competition.
  • Compliance
    • Maintain high standards of business conduct and compliance, adhering to Pharmacovigilance Policy, Global Vet Policy, Zoetis values, travel & expenses policy, and local codes of practice.
    • Deliver technical training and coaching to AMs in a consistent and compliant manner.
    • Work with AMs to keep accurate records of customer activity.

Experience

  • Recent UK veterinary practice experience is required
  • Experience in a technical role in the animal health industry is desirable but not essential

Travel Requirement

  • Medium frequency of travel within the designated region
  • Occasional foreign travel
