👥 About the Engineering Team ZOE uses advanced science and technology to transform health—our engineering team sits at the heart of that mission. We are a distributed team of around 40 engineers across the UK and EU who thrive on solving complex challenges together.

🏗️ About the Role & Impact We’re looking for a Senior React Native Engineer to join our cross‑functional product engineering team. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, and Analysts to build features that enable customers to snap meals, track their progress, and understand how their diet affects their bodies.

React Native Mobile App Features

• Barcode scanning and AI photo logging of meals.
• Wearables integration for sleep and exercise data.
• Visualisation and tracking of health and diet data.
• Joyful animations built using Rive to make habit‑building delightful.

• Frontend: React Native, Expo, TypeScript
• Mobile Tools: Rive, Reanimated, RTKQuery, Redux, Scandit, Maestro, Storybook, Fastlane
• App Tools: Mixpanel, Kameeleon, AppsFlyer, Firebase, RevenueCat
• Backend: Kotlin / Spring Boot, Python / FastAPI & Django
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deeply understand customers and build delightful and meaningful solutions, working in fast loops with product managers, designers, and analysts.
• Take ownership of ambiguous technical problems, breaking them down into manageable parts to deliver value quickly and incrementally.
• Balance speed and quality, prioritising solutions that allow us to learn quickly while ensuring our mobile architecture remains scalable and healthy.
• Mentor and support teammates through thoughtful code reviews and knowledge sharing, shaping a world‑class engineering culture.
• Ship to production frequently, iterating on real user data to refine the experience.

Qualifying Experience

• 4+ years of hands‑on frontend experience, with experience in React Native or React Web.
• Adaptable in fast‑paced environments, comfortable navigating challenges and driving progress under changing conditions.
• Positive and collaborative energy, building strong relationships and contributing to a joyful workplace at ZOE.
• Pragmatic mindset, championing simple, elegant code over unnecessary complexity, and evolving designs for the future.

Bonus Points

• Passion for accessibility and design systems, ensuring our products are usable by everyone.
• Experience building animations and motion using Rive or tools such as Reanimated, Ski.
• Experience with automated E2E testing, such as Maestro, Detox, or Appium.
