Freight Operations Coordinator

Our client is a respected freight Forwarder who specialises in Sea, Air, Road and Rail Freight, as well as fulfilment logistics. Their services include Customs Clearance and full Supply Chain solutions. Based in Essex, they are seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator to manage the Import and Export of goods via Sea and Road. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling Documentation, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and coordinating with key stakeholders to ensure timely and cost effective delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and manage import & export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to manage shipment schedules.
• Monitor the status of inbound and outbound shipments and ensure on-time delivery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues or delays related to operations.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all transactions and documents.
• Liaise with internal departments to provide shipment updates and address discrepancies.
• Negotiate freight charges and other logistics costs to support budget efficiency.
• Assist in compiling reports
• Handle inquiries and documentation requests from customs and other regulatory authorities.
• Ensure correct classification and valuation of goods for customs clearance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and logistics service providers.
