My client is looking for an ambitious Planner to join their growing team in Stoke-on-Trent. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and assessing a variety of planning applications, helping to guide the development of our town in line with strategic goals and community needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning Applications: Assess, process, and manage planning applications, ensuring compliance with local and national regulations.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the development and review of planning policies, providing expert advice to ensure alignment with long-term objectives.
  • Site Appraisals: Conduct site visits and appraisals to evaluate the suitability of proposed developments, considering environmental, social, and economic impacts.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with local communities, stakeholders, and developers to gather feedback and ensure that planning decisions reflect community interests.
  • Development Control: Provide guidance on development control matters, ensuring that developments adhere to planning regulations and contribute to sustainable urban growth.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for planning committees, providing clear and concise recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Essential: A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
