Role Responsibilities:
- Protect our confidential information and intellectual property
- Follow our policies, procedures and code of conduct
- Play an active role in your safety and the safety of others around you
- Be prepared to manage projects with a degree of technical complexity
- Be prepared to travel on occasion for project related work when required. This could be working from our other offices within the UK for defined periods of time; or on client sites within the UK
Essential Skills:
- Enthusiasm and a keen interest in continually developing your geotechnical consultancy skills
- Apply detailed theoretical knowledge of geotechnical engineering and project management principles
- Proficient in the use of spreadsheets and FREW, SLIDE, Settle 3D, Plaxis or similar industry standard software
- Working knowledge of Eurocode 7 and UK annex design codes, ground investigation and construction contracts and specifications
- An understanding of the operating model of a specialist consulting business
- An understanding of how innovative and practical solutions create client value – can contribute to new or original techniques in the design
- An ability in a client facing role promoting technical capabilities and service offerings to clients
- An ability to identify and convert new business opportunities with existing and new clients
- Presents appropriate information in a clear and concise manner both orally and in writing
- Good interpersonal skills and a strong team focus
Relevant Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geotechnical Engineering or similar
- Postgraduate qualification (MSc, MEng or PhD) in a related field (e.g. hydrogeology/engineering geology/geotechnical engineering) is an advantage
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status through an appropriate professional body
