Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning process for a range of development projects, ensuring compliance with relevant planning policies and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, liaising with local authorities, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategic planning frameworks to support business objectives.
  • Conduct site appraisals, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
  • Provide expert planning advice to internal teams and external partners.
  • Monitor planning policy changes and assess their impact on future projects.
  • Manage relationships with local planning authorities, community groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee planning appeals, enforcement matters, and public consultations where necessary.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Town Planning, Urban Design, or a related field.
  • Chartered membership with the RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute) or working towards accreditation.
  • Proven experience in planning, ideally within a consultancy, developer, or local authority.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy frameworks.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
