Are you a recent graduate with a passion for shaping the places where we live, work and play? We’re working with a respected planning consultancy based in the heart of Cheltenham, looking to add a motivated Graduate Planner to their growing team.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting chance to kick-start your career in town planning within a collaborative, supportive, and forward-thinking environment. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of projects — from residential and commercial developments to rural and regeneration schemes — working alongside experienced planners who will mentor you as you work towards Chartered RTPI status .

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting in the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals
  • Conducting site appraisals, policy reviews, and planning research
  • Supporting senior team members in preparing development plan representations
  • Liaising with local authorities, clients, and other consultants
  • Preparing planning statements, reports, and design and access statements
  • About You

    We’re looking for someone enthusiastic and curious, with a genuine interest in planning and the built environment. You’ll be a recent graduate (or due to graduate soon) with a relevant degree such as:

  • Town / Urban Planning
  • Geography
  • Environmental Planning
  • Architecture or a related discipline
  • Other key qualities include:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ideally, some work experience or a placement within a planning or property environment
