About the Role: We are recruiting on behalf of a leading infrastructure organisation for a Geotechnical Engineer to join their Operational Delivery team based in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of feasibility studies and the delivery of geotechnical renewal and improvement schemes on key infrastructure assets across the West Midlands. The successful candidate will take a leading role in early solution development, compiling and checking technical documentation, and considering innovative approaches to design, materials, and cost efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop feasibility studies in line with agreed asset management strategies.
- Produce and review CD622 geotechnical reports.
- Prepare briefs and support the delivery of ground investigation surveys.
- Undertake preliminary geotechnical design for maintenance and renewal schemes.
- Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing are embedded throughout project planning and execution.
Requirements:
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status in a relevant discipline with professional body membership.
- Relevant degree or HND with significant experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Demonstrable experience in the design of geotechnical renewal schemes.
- Working knowledge of value management principles and cost-benefit analysis.
- Familiarity with the DMRB and Specification for Highway Works.
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points (required due to the nature of the role).
