Our client is looking for a Building Surveyor to join their Building Consultancy team in Cheshire. The territory covers the CH, CW, SK, ST and WA postcodes, so you'll be working across Cheshire and the surrounding areas rather than being tied to one office. There's two positions available, so ideally the areas will be split, so work will be kept closer to home.
You'll manage your own caseload of building surveying instructions, acting for loss adjusters, insurers and policyholders. However, there's also need in the business for more traditional building surveying professional work, so even if you don't have experience in the insurance sector, please apply.
What you'll be doing as a Building Surveyor inCheshire, Staffordshire and Wirral
- Carrying out defect diagnosis surveys
- Preparing costed schedules of works
- Overseeing repair projects from instruction through to completion
- Managing JCT contract matters, including variations, payments and liquidated damages
- Keeping loss adjusters, insurers and policyholders updated throughout
- What you'll need
- Experience carrying out defect surveys and preparing schedules of works
- Working knowledge of JCT contracts and CDM Regulations
- RICS or MCIOB qualified, or working towards it
- Clear written and verbal communication
Insurance claims experience is helpful but not essential. If you're a building surveyor from a private client or general practice background and want to move into this area, this is worth a conversation.
