Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee onboard staff assigned to your vessels, ensuring their effectiveness and performance.
  • Prioritize safety, cost leadership and reliability as a fundamental responsibility in all operations.
  • Strengthen sea-to-shore communication and actively engage with officers and crews.
  • Handle all operational aspects of the vessels under your care, ensuring seamless functionality.
  • Oversee both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and modifications to hull and machinery within budget.
  • Plan and coordinate vessel inspections and dry-docking activities.
  • Ensure all vessel certifications and surveys comply with class, flag, and international standards.
  • Monitor vessel performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage financial budgets for maintenance, repairs, stores, and dry-docking.
  • Propose innovative solutions, cost-saving measures, and operational improvements.
  • Evaluate and ensure service quality from shipyards, workshops, and suppliers, meeting regulatory and customer standards.
  • Conduct Technical inspections and vetting assessments and be able to travel globally to visit vessels, when required.
  • Provide operational insights to enhance the safety and efficiency of future vessel designs.
  • Contribute actively to decarbonization initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports to management as required.

  • Expertise: Seasoned shore-based manager with a minimum of two years of experience overseeing vessel operations.
  • Education: Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities with a focus on building and leading effective teams.
  • Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to manage budgets, negotiate effectively, and ensure cost-efficiency in technical operations.
