The PMO Support will report to the PMO Lead to support the delivery of projects, programmes and portfolios.

Based five days a week at our office in central London, this role will suit an individual who has a strong appreciation of the project management delivery cycle and working knowledge of Project Management tools. But has the flexibility to adapt where a pragmatic approach is appropriate or where non-standard methods are present.

This role will suit a proactive individual who is comfortable opening dialogue with stakeholders across all levels and has a coercive but supportive approach to ensuring tasks are met.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and maintaining project repository (Azure DevOps) this includes monitoring the health of projects maintained in DevOps via Dashboards and queries.
  • Provide support to ensure the proactive management of risks and issues, dependencies, resources, and milestones associated with the implementation of projects.
  • Consolidating and documenting the fundamental components of projects and/or programmes and/or portfolios (scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, opportunities and issues, and quality requirements)
  • Establishing and maintaining governance arrangements for the delivery of projects and/or programmes and/or portfolios, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities, that align with organisational practice.
  • Administration of tools supporting the delivery of projects and/or programmes and/or portfolios. Including Azure DevOps, SharePoint, and the MS Office Suite.
  • Provide appropriate document and information management on behalf of the project; Ensuring project folders are kept tidy and well structured, with a document register for key items maintained throughout the lifecycle. Ensure appropriate classifications are applied to all documentation shared by the project/programme.
  • Liaise with other team members across the programme, supporting other staff to deliver the programme objectives

A PMO Support is also likely to be responsible for applying the following under supervision, in non-complex situations:

  • Developing, implementing and updating resource allocation plans needed for projects and/or programmes and/or portfolios, taking account of availability and scheduling.
  • Identifying and monitoring project and/or programme and/or portfolio risks (threats and opportunities), planning and implementing responses to them and responding to other issues that affect projects and/or programmes and/or portfolios.
  • Managing stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests
  • Establishing, and implementing where necessary, protocols to change the scope of projects and/or programmes and/or portfolios and updating configuration documents as required

Experience and Requirements:

We are looking for a PMO Support with 2-3 years’ experience of working in a PMO or on structured development projects. And a minimum of 12 months in-depth use of Azure DevOps. Preferably to an administrative level, including configuring project hierarchy, creating tasks and managing backlogs.

  • IT Literate, particularly the MS Office Suite of programs
  • Working knowledge of Project Management methodologies and tools (non-specific)
  • Experience of managing and implementing project control mechanisms in a project and/or programme or business environment.
  • Good MS Excel skills including formulae building.
  • Solid understanding of software development projects
