Zodiac Maritime has embarked on a digital transformation programme affecting most parts of the business. Part of this transformation includes renewing the Maintenance Management System for planned and defect maintenance. The role holder will join at the post-implementation stage of a new technical solution. They will manage deployment and maintain the live system.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive improvements and updates in the new PMS tools/functions e.g. Equipment Register, Spares, Planned Maintenance, Defect Management and Inventory Management for office/vessel users.
  • Ensure data (including but not limited to, equipment, spares, jobs, class, inventory, location and running hours) are accurately built, mapped and maintained in the PMS.
  • Collect SFI coded spares from manufacturers as per product requirements.
  • Action data/change requests as submitted by ships and shore through an agreed governance process.
  • Generate templates for each vessel type joining the Zodiac fleet and ensure accurate data capture and transfer for new builds and acquisitions.
  • Assist in ensuring that all vessels have an appropriate maintenance regime in compliance with statutory requirements and Zodiac fleet policies, monitoring and reviewing overdue jobs and defect jobs on a routine basis.
  • Liaise with external vendors for digitization of manuals and documents to create an e-archive for operational referencing.
  • Prepare regular reports and analytics on the PMS for internal stakeholders' review.
  • Day-to-day administration/follow-up for inquiries received by office and vessel users.
  • Follow up on issues with hardware and software onboard the vessels to ensure smooth system running in close cooperation with the Vessel IT team and PMS vendor.
  • Enhance crew and onshore technical team awareness about PMS capabilities and system usage.
  • Responsible for the training/briefing of the Crew (face to face onboard or remotely) and the onshore Technical Team.
  • Support the implementation of related projects such as dry dock software and procurement.
  • Manage the regular Spares register update.
  • Manage each new release of the maintenance management system, including the review, assessment and broadcast of release notes; consider the training needs and QMS changes to be implemented, including updates of e-learning, QRG, FAQ etc.
  • Promote product enhancement and administer enhancement requests from vessels or office.
  • Suggest and support the development and implementation of analytical and reporting tools.
  • Support the update of processes and procedures, including the broadcast to fleet and office and the update of QMS.
  • Coordinate the transition of maintenance legacy platforms to the new platform.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience working within the shipping industry within a fast-paced marine technical environment.
  • Must have relevant experience working with and managing maintenance management/planned maintenance systems (MMS/PMS).
  • Have experience of building and managing teams while embedding a performance management culture.
  • Good technical knowledge about machinery and working components onboard a vessel.
  • Organised, thorough with great attention to detail and accuracy of data.
  • Analytical, able to review data and create insightful reports that drive action.
  • Problem solving: Takes ownership looks to challenge and resolve issues, effectively and consistently.
  • English language skills for a good understanding of the existing ship documentation.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
  • Interpersonal and Team Management skills.
  • Having onboard ship experience in data collection, setting up PMS applications and training the officers would be advantageous.
