I’m recruiting for an experienced Fire Operations Manager to join an established Fire & Security business, taking responsibility for its Fire Service & Maintenance operation across North/West London and the surrounding Home Counties. This is a senior operational role where you’ll lead a field-based engineering team, ensuring customers receive an excellent service while driving team performance, operational efficiency and continued development.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day delivery of planned, reactive and corrective Fire Service & Maintenance activity across the region. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing a field-based Fire engineering team.
- Supporting, coaching and developing engineers while identifying training and development requirements.
- Driving productivity, service performance and operational standards.
- Building strong relationships with key customers and ensuring consistently high levels of service.
- Ensuring Health & Safety, quality and compliance standards are maintained.
- Managing operational budgets and ensuring performance against agreed targets.
- Working closely with the wider leadership team to identify opportunities to improve service delivery and performance.
What I’m Looking For
I’m looking for somebody who combines Fire industry knowledge with strong people and operational management experience. You could currently be working as a Fire Operations Manager, Service Manager, Engineering Manager or experienced Team Manager and be ready to take on broader operational responsibility. Ideally, you’ll have:
- Previous experience within the Fire industry.
- Experience managing and developing field-based engineering teams.
- A hands-on, lead-from-the-front management style.
- Strong Service & Maintenance operational experience.
- Excellent customer and key account management skills.
- Good commercial awareness and experience working against operational targets.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach to developing people and improving performance.
- Full UK driving licence.
