We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of security projects across the utilities sector in the Southern region. This is a hands-on role combining technical delivery with project support, working closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer looking to step into a more project-focused position while remaining actively involved in commissioning and site activities.
Key Responsibilities- Support Project Managers with the delivery of projects from pre-start through to completion
- Attend client meetings and site visits, acting as a key technical point of contact
- Oversee subcontractors and internal engineers on site
- Carry out commissioning and validation of security systems, with occasional installation work
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, escalating any issues where required
- Complete testing, inspections and reporting in line with British Standards
- Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and junior engineers
- Conduct technical and health & safety audits on engineers and subcontractors
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for commissioning and project activities
- Support continuous improvement and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the security industry
- Strong technical knowledge across security systems including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms and intercoms
- Experience with systems such as Galaxy, Texecom, Avigilon, Hanwha, Axis and Hikvision
- Proven experience in installation, servicing and commissioning of security systems
- Ability to manage priorities and work across multiple sites
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
- CSCS/ECS card
- SSSTS qualification
