Undertaking all janitorial duties, compliance checks and associated documentation, as required. Please see the role profile for more information on the duties and responsibilities. This is a permanent post to join our team on Monday to Friday, with some flexibility as discussed at interview.

Job Profile

  • Janitor – 36 hours per week, based at Kirkcaldy High School.
  • Hours will be between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm as required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Assistant Janitors, Work Choice Assistant Janitors, work placement staff and other employees – including induction, training, attendance management, timesheets, leave authorisation and recruitment/selection duties.
  • Liaise with outside contractors (directly or through property services staff) to confirm contractors hold necessary Public Liability Insurance and comply with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Carrying out prescribed procedures in the event of fire, flooding, accident or damage, liaising with appropriate staff and contractors.
  • Respond to problems and resolve issues promptly.

A Willingness To Complete Additional Training As Required.

Candidate Profile

  • Ability to provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a team.
  • Required to attend an induction training day before starting in post.
  • Before appointment, must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
