This is an excellent opportunity for a Structured Cabling Engineer to join our team at Zircom, delivering high-quality data and fibre cabling solutions across varied environments, including commercial, industrial and secure sites.
LEVELS AVAILABLE: Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 (depending on experience)
SALARY: Β£25,000 to Β£40,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Generous Benefits

As a Structured Cabling Engineer, you will work across a wide range of environments including offices, manufacturing sites, construction projects and data centres. You will be involved in installing, terminating and testing copper and fibre cabling to exacting standards, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Structured Cabling Engineer include:
Level 1 Key Responsibilities:
- Cabling Installations: Installing internal and external copper and fibre cabling systems
- Termination and Testing: Terminating and testing Cat6, Cat6a and fibre cabling to industry standards
- Containment Systems: Installing containment including conduit, trunking, tray and basket
- Fault Diagnosis: Identifying and rectifying faults within structured cabling networks
- Equipment Installation: Installing Wi-Fi access points, UPS units and associated equipment
- Site Working: Working safely within offices, factories, construction sites and data centres
- Documentation: Completing job reports and technical documentation accurately
- Health and Safety: Following risk assessments, method statements and all safety procedures
- Operational Support: Supporting wider project delivery and business operations when required
Level 2 / Level 3 Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessments: Creating and managing site-specific risk assessments and method statements
- Project Delivery: Overseeing cabling works to ensure projects are delivered to agreed timescales
- Site Surveys: Conducting site surveys and producing technical documentation
- Client Liaison: Acting as a point of contact for clients and providing regular progress updates
- Technical Guidance: Recommending technical solutions and supporting project change control
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL:
- CSCS or ECS site card
- Full UK driving licence
- Industry training such as IPAF or PASMA
- Strong technical understanding of data and fibre cabling installations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- Organised, flexible and detail-oriented approach
DESIRABLE:
- Ability to obtain or hold SC Security Clearance
- Previous experience within structured cabling environments
- CNET CNCI or similar industry qualification
- Experience working in defence, manufacturing or data centre settings
- Knowledge of JSP453 or security-related installation standards
