ZipZag Rides is a pioneering engineering company specializing in designing, supplying, and installing unique Zip Roller Coasters globally. We are looking for a hands-on Graduate Engineer, who will work across the product lifecycle.

What You’ll Need (Qualifications & Skills): As a Graduate Engineer, you’ll be introduced to the full product lifecycle, with opportunity to develop your skills across the different business. We are looking for an organised individual with a problem-solving mindset, eager to learn more about this niche area. We are ready to take on the right calibre of candidate either recently graduated or with some industry experience. Here's what you’ll need:

  • A STEM degree of minimum 2:1 classification or equivalent qualification.
  • A passion for engineering that includes practical and technical ability.
  • Experience of 2D/3D modelling software is essential (SketchUp/AutoCAD, Inventor etc).
  • Willingness to travel abroad for Installation Projects when required.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work well as part of a diverse team.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Physical capability to use access equipment and ability to work at height.
  • The right to work in the UK.

Here's What You'll Do: Our Graduate Engineers are introduced to each area of the business from scheme design, project management and ride delivery and installation. Below is a sample of what the role will include:

  • Project scheme design, including site surveying, ride modelling and developing technical briefs for the client and team.
  • Detailed project design assessing steelwork design and coordination, rigging layouts and scheduling as well as load assessment analysis.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including Logistics, Procurement and Design to ensure smooth project execution.
  • In time you will serve as the primary contact for the client, providing timely updates, managing expectations and arranging installation details.
  • With training and development, you will become proficient in site installations and overtime you will be confident to lead installations independently.
  • Upholding ZipZag Rides’ commitment to innovation and excellence, contributing effectively to process and design improvements.

Where You'll Work: Our office is on the outskirts of Chester. As a Graduate Engineer, your role will involve a mixture of both office and site-based work. Approximately 20% to 30% of your time in the year could be spent on site, with our installation teams, in a variety of locations across the world - from London, to Dubai, to Canada! Site installs generally take 2 weeks.

What You’ll Get:

  • Salary DOE: £27,000 - £32,000.
  • 37.5hr working week with 20-25 days holiday (negotiable) plus bank holidays.
  • Overtime historically 15-20%, to be paid or taken as TOIL as agreed.
  • All travel, accommodation and subsistence costs paid when on installation.
