At Zip Water, we are looking for a skilled Specification Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with key specifiers in the construction industry. This role will be primarily home based with the expectation of travel across the Northern part of the country and further afield to suit business needs. Your main goal is to increase sales by ensuring that our products are specified for projects.

In this role, you will work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to understand their project requirements and provide them with accurate and appropriate specifications for our water solutions. You will also be responsible for identifying and tracking project opportunities, attending industry events, and actively prospecting new business.

To be successful as a Specification Manager, you should have:

  • Proven experience in specification sales, preferably in the construction industry
  • Experience working with local customer bases including: Architects, Interior Designers, M+E Consultants & other building Services Engineers
  • Strong network and relationships with key specifiers
  • Drive to achieve results & deliver high standards in line with the Zip Water brand
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (CPDs)
  • Ability to showcase a consistent customer focused approach
  • Utilisation of modern prospecting methods & lead management
  • Ability to understand project requirements and provide accurate specifications
  • Knowledge of building regulations, standards, and relevant industry trends
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Ability to identify, negotiate, and track project opportunities
  • Willingness to attend industry events and local networking events which may require some flexibility in working hours
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems would be advantageous, however full training shall be provided
