Job Description
Driver Hire Uxbridge are recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner with our customer, a leading construction equipment hire company based in Southall. They supply projects across London and beyond!
Working alongside the Branch Manager, it will be the responsibility of the Transport Planner to support the operational team by ensuring all drivers are allocated correctly, documentation is completed, and within a tight time scale.
Salary: £31,000 – £32,000 PER ANNUM
Working Hours: MONDAY TO FRIDAY 9AM TO 7PM
Role of a Transport Planner:
- Working closely with the Transport Manager, Compliance Manager, and other departments within the business to provide the best delivery solutions.
- Plan efficient routes for drivers and have a can-do attitude.
- Confirming delivery/collection administration with drivers and make any necessary amendments.
- Liaise with drivers and confirm delivery and collection administration – ensure all issues are dealt with accordingly.
- Deal with customer and client enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Report vehicle defaults and ensure they are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Keep reports up-to-date on the systems.
- Ensure all filing is completed daily and scan required documents.
- Ensure that Company and Statutory Health and Safety, COSHH and Environmental requirements are met.
Requirements of a Transport Planner:
- 1 year’s experience as a Transport Planner or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of all traffic laws and regulations (Transport Manager qualifications a bonus!).
- UK driving licence.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in booking systems.
- Excellent administrative skills and highly organised.
- Polite telephone manner and strong communication skills.
- Computer literate and proficient in MS Office.
