Job Description
Technical Architect
We\’re seeking an experienced Technical Architect to join a major government digital transformation programme delivering critical public services. You\’ll play a key role in designing and implementing modern, user-centered digital solutions that impact millions across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical architecture of large-scale digital services, ensuring they meet government security standards and accessibility requirements.
- Design resilient, scalable solutions using modern cloud technologies and microservices architecture.
- Collaborate with multiple delivery teams to ensure technical consistency and alignment with strategic goals.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices, patterns, and technologies.
- Work within government technical standards including the Technology Code of Practice and Service Standard.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate technology choices that balance innovation with reliability.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, security, and compliance requirements.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect in large-scale digital transformation projects.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), microservices, and API design.
- Experience with government security classifications and NCSC guidelines.
- Track record of delivering highly available, secure, and accessible digital services.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and continuous delivery principles.
- Experience working in agile environments and with distributed delivery teams.
