Job Description
Sustainability Director
An independent strategic communications agency is looking to bolster their team with a key hire – Sustainability Director. This impressive agency is based in London and works with an array of highly recognizable global clients across a range of sectors.
Their award-winning Sustainability team is moving from strength to strength, building on a solid base of reporting and evolving to a diversified suite of services, including materiality assessments, strategy development, internal engagement, and external comms campaigns.
Salary:
£100,000 – 120,000 (DOE) + Bonus and Benefits
Role Summary
As the Sustainability Director, you will be charged with continuing to grow and diversify their offering. Working with a business development and marketing team, you will continue to develop a growth plan for the team with a goal to support overall agency growth and expand Sustainability services across prospects and existing clients.
You will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and will ensure Sustainability contributes to overall agency performance.
You will be responsible for overseeing high-quality delivery of services across the Sustainability offering, from conducting materiality assessments and developing sustainability strategies, to developing and delivering sustainability reports and communications campaigns. You will also work closely with client service and creative teams to ensure smooth and integrated delivery of projects.
You will be a recognized subject matter expert in Sustainability, including familiarity with all the major sustainability and ESG reporting frameworks, and confident with communicating at all levels within an organization, including C-suite. You will draw upon your extensive network, building relationships and speaking at events to champion our thinking.
Key Responsibilities
- Consultancy and Subject Matter Expertise
You are an experienced sustainability professional with a solid background in the agency or consultancy space, with demonstrable experience in corporate sustainability issues.
You can confidently take the lead in client meetings, presenting, and getting buy-in from stakeholders.
You will consult with clients from CEO level and down, challenging and expanding their thinking, providing insight and imagination, and sharing knowledge of best practice and legal requirements.
Assessing and analyzing key trends, strategies, and communications to provide insight to clients and internal partners on key topics related to sustainability, such as climate change.
- New Business and Marketing
Naturally curious and entrepreneurial, you will proactively come up with inspiring ideas and develop content for thought leadership and marketing material.
You will continually enhance business development approaches and the Sustainability business strategy, leading the development of new products and services.
You are confident with public speaking, and with pitching and presenting to clients.
- Team Management
You bring a commercial mindset to the team, using your skills to support improvements to the offering, liaising with other teams to enhance service and delivery.
You will lead the Sustainability team of consultants and Associate Director, and work closely with other teams including account managers and creatives to ensure work is consistently brilliant, clients are happy, and projects run smoothly, on time and on budget.
