Job Description
Our client, an established construction consultancy, now has an exciting opportunity for a Structural Design Engineer to join their team in Warwick on a permanent basis. You will need a minimum of 1 year of experience to be considered for this position. This role will give you the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different industries whilst working alongside a strong and experienced leadership team.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Preparation and checking of structural designs and drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Represent our client at meetings when required, and attend site to undertake surveys and inspections.
- Control the programmed performance of projects.
- Brief and supervise Graduate Engineers and Technicians on the production of drawings.
- Assist with new business opportunities.
Key Skills/Experience Required:
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role and working on a variety of projects.
- Previous experience of contract negotiations.
- A commercial understanding of management.
- Proven ability to design structural members in structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber.
- Understanding of UK Building Regulations and codes of practice.
- Familiarity with design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, S-Frame, TEDDS, SCIA, and CADS.
Qualifications:
- Degree qualified as a minimum.
- Aspiring to or working towards Incorporated or Chartered Membership of either the Institution of Structural Engineers or Institution of Civil Engineers.
