Job Description
Radius is seeking a Senior Technical Manager for a leading Datacentre organisation based in London.
The Senior Technical Manager, Data Centres is responsible for providing technical support and expertise to the Data Centre Operations Department and the whole campus including third party vendors and providers, to ensure the optimum performance and reliability of the technical infrastructure and services, in line with the 5-Star Data Centre vision.
The role will support the Data Centre Director in ensuring the application of the technical expertise and best practice to the day-to-day data centre operations, aiming at constantly improving the technical performance, energy efficiency and downtown prevention across the campus.
Responsibilities:
- To provide multifaceted technical assistance to the operations team.
- Constantly develop and maintain technical expertise, share knowledge and help develop engineering skills throughout the contract base.
Qualifications:
- Membership of professional body e.g. IEE, IET, The Institute of Mechanical Engineers, CIBSE
Experience:
- Solid experience in a Facilities/Data Centre environment.
- Experience of managing a team.
- Electrical, BMS, PMS, UPS, chilled water and fire systems experience.
- Project Management experience.
- Strong and demonstrable process management experience in a live operational environment.
- Extensive real-time Incident/fault management experience in a business-critical environment.
- Managing 3rd party suppliers to deliver against stringent SLA’s.
- Experience with Business Continuity, Risk Management, Incident Management and Change Control.
Knowledge:
- Highly demonstrable technical ability from either a mechanical or electrical perspective.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety, ISO standards, and compliance.
- Knowledge of Data Centre Customer installations, such as racks, HAC, cabling, cross connects, power, testing and customer acceptance.
- Ability to lead/assist investigations into post-incident management reviews and drafting of Incident Reports.
