Heriot Brown is partnering with a leading infrastructure business seeking a Legal Counsel to support its expanding operations. This role offers exposure to high-profile projects, close collaboration with commercial teams, and the opportunity to play a strategic role in the business’s continued growth.
The Role
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will support major infrastructure projects from procurement through to delivery, providing expert legal guidance across the entire contract lifecycle. You will work closely with the Head of Legal, handling a variety of legal matters while collaborating across the business and group. This role goes beyond a typical legal counsel position, offering exposure to broader commercial and strategic elements of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on complex construction and infrastructure projects.
- Draft and negotiate key industry contracts, including NEC and JCT .
- Provide strategic and day-to-day legal support across business operations.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure project success.
What We’re Looking For
- A qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent).
- 5–9 years’ experience in construction law (PQE is a guide ).
- Strong understanding of NEC and JCT contracts.
- A proactive, commercially focused mindset with excellent communication skills.
- Part-time and flexible working arrangements will be considered.
