Job Description
Our Client is one of the leading Infrastructure organisations in the UK and is building one of the largest projects in Europe.
This project has huge complexity and an enormous environmental aspect that is vital to its success.
We are looking for an Environmental Manager who has good experience with large complex projects. The vital aspect of this role is to lead and manage contractors and consultancies with knowledge, influence, and integrity.
You will need to be a Chartered Environmentalist or be Chartered in an Engineering field with good experience in Environmental and NEC3 contracts. Knowledge of applicable UK environmental law and other relevant construction regulations, including Construction Design Management (CDM), is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding of the Regulatory/Legislative Framework.
- Commercial awareness including understanding of cost delivery, schedule targets, and the need to deliver an integrated solution that meets all functional requirements.
- Overall accountability for leading on environmental technical assurance in the Integrated Project Team through production, checking, and submission of assurance evidence for technical stage gates.
- Assuring that the design and construction of the assets comply with the technical and sponsor requirements, environmental commitments, environmental law, and regulations.
- Supporting the Head of Engineering and Environment in organizing, coordinating, and undertaking the environmental element of the risk-based technical assurance of the works performed and assured by the Integrated Project Team (IPT).
This role is based 3 days a week from any office in London, Bicester, Milton Keynes, or Birmingham.
